Ann Jones
Following a 5-year art school training at Stourbridge and Cambridge, I worked as an illustrator and book designer in London in the early 1970s. I then relocated to Hong Kong, where I stayed for 20 years, working as an artist and illustrator at first, and later, as a teacher, facilitator and spiritual counsellor. I returned to the UK in 1996, wanting to establish a new direction and to further develop my creativity and self-awareness. With that in mind, I studied for a degree in Creative Expressive Therapies, specialising in Art, at Derby University and then took a 3 year Master’s degree training course in Art Therapy. I am now registered as an Art Therapist with the Health Professions Council. I am also a member of the British Association of Art Therapists (BAAT) and abide by its code of conduct and principles of practice. In 2016 after a one-year training course, I qualified as an Environmental Arts Therapist at the London Art Therapy Centre.
I have been running Art From Within groups and workshops in the Malvern area since 2004. I have also run art therapy workshops in a variety of settings including local hospices, and worked with both individuals and groups in child and adult mental health services in Gloucester and Cheltenham. In addition, I have many years experience in facilitating support groups and workshops on spontaneous art-making, self-acceptance, positive thinking and meditation. I am passionate about the creative process and its transformative powers and want to help my clients learn to use their own creative expression to find hope and healing through art.
